A. Information You Give Us

• Account Information: Name, email address, age, and school affiliation (if applicable).
• User Content: Your votes, opinions cast in the "Policy Arena," and choices made during simulations (e.g., Budget Challenge or Cabinet Crisis).
• Profile Data: Your "Civic Credits" balance, streak status, and unlocked rewards.

B. Information We Receive from Schools (via Wonde)

• We use Wonde to securely sync with your school’s Management Information System (MIS).
• This may include your name, year group, and class registration details to place you in the correct "World" or leaderboard.

C. Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device model, operating system, and IP address.
• Usage Data: Which courses you take, how long you spend in the app, and feature usage patterns.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Run the Game: To maintain your streak, calculate your Civic Credits, and save your simulation progress.
• Facilitate Multiplayer: To allow you to team up with friends and compete in government leagues.
• Civic Insights (Anonymised): We aggregate the opinions given in the Policy Arena to provide anonymized insights to Local Authorities (Councils). We never share your specific votes attached to your name with the government.
• Improve the App: To understand which features are popular and fix bugs.

4. Third-Party Services (Who sees your data)

• Wonde: Used for School Integration to securely connect your school account to the app. They access Student Name, Year Group, and Class IDs.
• PocketHost: Used for Database & Backend storage. This is where our user database lives. They store all encrypted user data (Profiles, Credits, Votes).
• Fly.io: Used for Hosting Infrastructure to keep the app online. They may process IP Addresses and Traffic Data.
• PostHog: Used for Product Analytics to help us understand how you use the app (e.g., "Where do users get stuck?"). They access usage patterns, clicks, and device type.
• Google Analytics: Used for General Analytics to track basic app performance and crash reporting. They access anonymized user demographics and session duration.

5. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored securely using PocketHost and Fly.io.
• We implement industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data in transit.
• We restrict access to personal data to only those employees who need it to operate the service.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

• Access: Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to fix wrong information.
• Deletion: Ask us to delete your account and data ("The Right to be Forgotten").
• Withdraw Consent: You can stop using the app and request data deletion at any time.
